You're right, done well we can absorb a lot in a short time, but there are bad ones out there (even from Chessbase).

RE: Peep Show...

It's the episode (series 4) when they go off an canal barge for Mark's 'stag cruise'... the chess computer goes along (oh, and there's a barbequed dog!)Roger Coathuphttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12398052572280622844noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2197931634372460826.post-79383145143185390512007-05-11T13:00:00.000-07:002007-05-11T13:00:00.000-07:00Actually BDK...Nope, not unless you want to.I boug...Actually BDK...

Nope, not unless you want to.
I bought both of the trainer's based on one of the Playchess Radio shows that I accidently came across, and the presentation piqued my interest. I had read one of the reviews, and I honestly thought it may help anyways.

I watched the first one (Scandy) and the chess knowledge connected, but I still don't play the opening ;-}. hisbestfriendhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06713960560378854865noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2197931634372460826.post-73323183510019085642007-05-11T11:33:00.000-07:002007-05-11T11:33:00.000-07:00Wow you make me want to start playing the Scandy. ...Wow you make me want to start playing the Scandy. I have yet to see the Qd6 variation as white. I guess I need to study it a little bit. Perhaps I'll take a look at the CD to help me as white when I confront it: do you think it would help for white?

Based on your writings, I'm not sure you will learn a lot of new stuff in the Idiot's Guide. But when I read it a year ago, it taught me a Blue Devil Knighthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12045468316613818510noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2197931634372460826.post-29427313553849675922007-05-11T11:16:00.000-07:002007-05-11T11:16:00.000-07:00An interesting aside. Martin suggests Nc6 rather than c6 for black on move 5. Which seems to make sense. Unless you are playing the once World Champion. It isn't the opening that cost Topalov, he lost it at the end at move 44. Though white missed the forced mate at the end.

[hisbestfriendhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06713960560378854865noreply@blogger.com
